Per https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=119949#c21: Mark the area to which the filter should be applied. Menu Data > Define Range. Enter Name, Add, OK. Later, in case not already marked, go to Menu Data > Select Range. After the area is marked, enable Autofilter by menu Data > Autofilter. Define Range has it's own help (via F1) https://help.libreoffice.org/7.3/en-US/text/scalc/01/12010000.html but it doesn't explain or link use in filter.
