a. Never, but previous and latest stable OpenOffice worked fine.
b. Isn't a new installation and profile the same? Since I can't run LO, I
usually uninstall it and remove its left overs (e.g., profile). Or is this
something else? I don't see why I need a parallel installation.
Anyways, I reinstalled and ran LO4. It still crashed during its splash screen
startup. I deleted my local LO4 profile. I changed my C:\Program
Files\LibreOffice 4.0\program\bootstrap.ini's 
"UserInstallation=$SYSUSERCONFIG/LibreOffice/4" line to
"UserInstallation=$ORIGIN/../Data/settings". It still crashed. Where is the
install log to share? Note that I do not Java installed.
