--- Comment #4 from Colin Brown <[email protected]> --- I too experienced this issue when updating a Windows 64 machine from 7.0.6 to 7.1.6. on 18/10/21 Today (19/10/21) I did some of the recommended tests:- It started in Safe Mode, but not in normal mode. It did not restart after I checked the "Restore user configuration to last known working state" box in the safe mode dialog. I tried renaming my user profile to user-old but it still would not start. However when I went back to undo my profile name change I noticed that the failed start had created a new user profile. Have restored 7.0.6 for the time being.
