Extensions define the update location, if that moves/breaks on the server side, you are pretty much helpless. https://extensions.libreoffice.org/en/extensions/show/languagetool shows user complaints about a similar issue in v5.1.3 but since then there are new releases. I tried to install 5.3 which then updated itself to 5.5.1 flawlessly. On the other hand V5.1.3 did not find any updates.
