What is complicated to connect with another *.odb-file to the same database
connected through ODBC or JDBC? All views and tables are part of the database.
You could hide them all. And you could add one query for the user, who wants to
connect with Writer to the data. So you only need to connect the same way as
your original *.odb-file connects.

Views are included, because views will be part of the database and will be
shown in the tables pane. Only queries won't be hidden.
