            Bug ID: 146186
Summary: (Enhancement) In Writer, make it easier to read
                    footnote numbers.
           Product: LibreOffice
           Version: 7.2.3.2 release
          Hardware: All
                OS: All
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: enhancement
          Priority: medium
         Component: Writer
          Assignee: [email protected]
          Reporter: [email protected]

Description:
LibreOffice Writer shows footnote numbers on a gray background, making them
even harder to read. Using a white background could make them easier to read.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open an .odg document containing footnotes using LibreOffice Writer.
2. Try to see which footnote belongs with which sentence.

Actual Results:
Footnote numbers in the main text usually use very small text.

LibreOffice Writer shows them on a gray background, making them even harder to
read.

While it's possible to lean in and zoom the page to make footnote numbers
readable, unless you have good eyesight *and* a big monitor, text at the top of
the page and footnotes on the bottom won't fit on the screen at the same time
unless you zoom out.

I have poor eyesight and a big 22" monitor.

Expected Results:
Using a white background could make them easier to read.

If there's a preference to change footnote background colors, I can't find it
because I can't read the LibreOffice preferences...

Reproducible: Always
