            Bug ID: 146296
Summary: EDIT INDEX ENTRY: allow user to specify navigation
between "Entry" or between "First/Second Key"
           Product: LibreOffice
           Version: unspecified
          Hardware: All
                OS: All
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: enhancement
          Priority: medium
         Component: Writer
          Assignee: [email protected]
          Reporter: [email protected]

Version: 7.1.5.2 / LibreOffice Community
Build ID: 85f04e9f809797b8199d13c421bd8a2b025d52b5
CPU threads: 2; OS: Linux 5.4; UI render: default; VCL: gtk3
Locale: en-GB (en_GB.UTF-8); UI: en-GB
Calc: threaded

CURRENT NAVIGATION OPTIONS:

Currently if you open an "Edit Index Entry" you have the following choice of
navigation:

1. LEFT / RIGHT arrows: to navigate from one "Entry" to the next, in the strict
order that they occcur.

2. LEFT / RIGHT end arrows: to navigate to the previous or next "Entry" of the
SAME name.

WHAT IS MISSING:

It is not possible to specify that you want to navigate back / forward using
"1st Key" or "Second Key".

SUGGESTED ENHANCEMENT

In front of the END arrows, a UI enhancement adding the ability to specify
three navigation choices. "ENTRY" (the default, as at present), "1st KEY", and
2nd KEY". Note: navigation for the ordinary arrows would be unchanged.

EXAMPLE

By specifying "1st key" in the following ...

Churchill, Winston (main entry)
   as a historian (sub-entry)
   as an Artist
   birth
   death
   entry into politics
   post-war politics
   schooling
   World War 2

... the LEFT/RIGHT end arrows move between consecutive "Churchill, Winston"
entries (rather than defaulting to the name in the "Entry" field) .
