I can reproduce this behavior using Linux Mint 14 x64 with LibreOffice Version 4.1.0.0.alpha0+ (Build ID: 5fcb553c862d407aadb0320925723d3c2f70bfe) (build yesterday). How to reproduce: * Open writer * Insert a bullet (shift+F12) Current behavior: In status bar you can see there "Words (Character) 1 (1)" Expected behavior: nothing typed yet -> "Words (Character) 0 (0)" * Type a word * Select first character of word Current behavior: Selected: 2 (2) ...?
