Screencast video where user is trying to see hidden option
I have experienced this issue since Ubuntu 19.04, 19.10, 20.04, Fedora 34 and
now in Fedora 35.
I tried to report in Ubuntu Launchpad and I did as you can see:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libreoffice/+bug/1889051
But it didn't receive any attention.
Hardware: Dell Inc. Inspiron 5548
Processor: Intel® Core™ i5-5200U CPU @ 2.20GHz × 4
Graphics: Mesa Intel® HD Graphics 5500 (BDW GT2)
Windowing System: Wayland
OS-Type: 64-bit
Kernel: Linux 5.15.12-200.fc35.x86_64
Resolution: 1366 x 768 (16:9)
Desktop Enviroment: GNOME 41.2
I have also attached a new screencast down below to show what's happening.
Q. How much reproducable?
-> Very much reproducable if you have a similar resolution and setup.
Q. What's happening?
-> I have a habit of customizing LO shortkeys the way I can easily remember. So
I go to Tools > Customize. Unlike other options menu windows (for example:
Tools > Options), "Customize" window is different. Different because the three
options which are at the bottom are cropped and hidden. These three options
are:
- Reset
- Cancel
- Ok
These three options are well protected and untouchable. 4 out of 5 times I will
be in this situation stuck whenever I try to apply a shortkey that I want.
Sometimes either by luck or by God's grace, I manage to shake Customize window
so hard, BOOM, I can see those three options. But at that time, I can't see the
Title bar of the "Customize" window which has the option to close the Window.
I'm stuck either way.
My god, it's THAT annoying. I think this is more of a "GNOME" problem for not
recognizing all sorts of screen resolutions. But I can't say this for sure. For
some reason, I'm only 95% sure, this is really a GNOME's problem.
Whoever problem it is, it is a problem. And it is seriously affecting
LibreOffice in particular. I have not seen this sort of problem anywhere else.
Please fix it. So far I love LO.
Note that: Try to reproduce this issue on the "Customize" option. Not all
option's windows is a big as Customize window if you compare with the height.
