Bug ID: 147036
Summary: Inconsistency deleting to character anchors in
document with backspace/delete
Product: LibreOffice
Version: 7.0.0.3 release
Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: medium
Component: Writer
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
Description:
Inconsistency deleting to character anchors in document with backspace/delete
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open the attached file
2. Go to the last paragraph in the document
3. Press backspace (OK)
4. Press backspace (dubious, image is anchored here, should backspace delete it
or move it up)
5. Press backspace again.. image still present (anchor should be deleted
ultimately..)
For comparison (which makes it more of a bug)
6. File reload
7. go the last paragraph..
8. Press backspace (OK)
9. Press delete (there is nothing visible to delete)
10. Press backspace (image deleted)
11. File reload
12. Place cursor at the top of the document
13. Press delete (to paragraph gone, fine)
14. Press delete again (next paragraph gone, fine)
15. Delete again (image deleted, which appears to be acceptable, even though
you could argue it should be deleted at step 13
16. File reload
17. Place cursor at the top of the document
18. Press delete
19. Place cursor at to bottom paragraph
20 Press backspace -> Image deleted.. I would expect it to stick around
Actual Results:
There is currently no logic easy to follow logic in the deletion of anchors
with backspace/delete.. Its erratic from user point of view. It really depends
in the order of doing things what happens..
Expected Results:
Harmony, consistency, predictability
Reproducible: Always
User Profile Reset: No
