Bug ID: 147229
Summary: File name when saving a new text document
Product: LibreOffice
Version: 7.2.1.2 release
Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: enhancement
Priority: medium
Component: Writer
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
Description:
LibreOffice Writer now suggests the default name “Untitled 1” when saving a new
text document.
And in Microsoft Office Word, when saving a text document, by default, a name
was assigned consisting of the first words in the text document.
For example, in the text document, the text is written: “The Olympic Games will
open today in the capital of China. A lot of people came to the opening…”
In this case, when saving the document in Microsoft Office Word, it will
suggest the name “The Olympic Games will open today in the capital of China”.
And LibreOffice Writer will suggest the name “Untitled 1”.
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open LibreOffice Writer.
2. Saving a new text document.
3. Looking at what name the program offers us.
Actual Results:
LibreOffice Writer suggests the default name “Untitled 1”.
Microsoft Office Word, when saving a text document, by default, a name was
assigned consisting of the first words in the text document.
Expected Results:
It seems to me that it would be good if LibreOffice Writer would suggest names
consisting of initial words in a text file when saving a text document, that
is, as Microsoft Office Word.
Reproducible: Always
User Profile Reset: No
Additional Info:
Ubuntu 21.10.
