            Bug ID: 147293
Summary: UI improvement to prevent accidental MODIFICATION of
                    MULTIPLE selected sheets
           Product: LibreOffice
           Version: 7.1.5.2 release
          Hardware: All
                OS: Windows (All)
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: medium
         Component: Calc
          Assignee: [email protected]
          Reporter: [email protected]

Some might not call my problem a bug, but a known way of working with the UI.
However I consider it a dangerous side-effect of a provided feature.

The first time I encountered the utility of selecting multiple sheets, it was
in connection with exporting a document as PDF, and is very useful for getting
defined print ranges from several sheets into the same PDF document. After
doing this I then continued editing one of the sheets, and later discovered, to
my horror, that I had been modifying multiple sheets. Now, even though I am
aware of this behavior, I still find myself forgetting to deselect all but one
sheet after exporting.

I can think of several possible ways to reduce this risk:

1) warn that multiple sheets are selected by changing the little gray bar
underlining selected sheets to bright red (maybe even flashing) when multiple
sheets are selected.

2) provide a global preference to prevent modifications in multiply selected
sheets.

3) augment the menu for export as PDF by providing a sheet list where the user
can select which sheets to export (perhaps even in which order).
