After installing KB3063858 - LO Version 7.1 ran without problems (and maybe even a little faster than 6.4.) with no further carshes. I will test Vers. 7.3 in near future but I dont expect any problebs. So thank you for your help! More generally, may I politely suggest to add a remark e.g. to the download page if cerain version NEEDS a certain Windows update.
