No problem for me.

My way to reproduce :
I click on bottom toolbox bar labelled "Line".
I draw the line
I click on bottom toolbox bar labelled "Point" (or clic F8)
I click on "Insert Points" on NEW bottom toolbox appear after F8, 
I click on clic on center of the line and a new point is inserted.
