Depending on the zoom, DPI and other factors rounding errors cause glyphs to jump and kerning gets destroyed. A crazy example is given there where the word California looks like Califomia!!! This awful glyph position issue is why I cannot use Writer for writing, the kerning really disrupts reading and this only affects LibreOffice on any platform (I see the same on Linux and macOS).
