Yes, but that does not work with function TODAY() or when you type only the day
and the month to obtain the date for the current year.

I see often this enhancement request on users mailing list or forums. I think
that that is a valid enhancement request because would be useful to be able to
set that the default year format is 4 digits.

So set status as NEW.
