So, this is definitely an issue! I always semi-consciously skipped over
Text-to-Text and it's only now that I've noticed it even exists - since the
phrasing is so obscure. Definitely needs replacement.

Personally, I don't, because:

1. Alignment of what about the characters?
2. Alignment with what?
3. Alignment in what axis?

Somewhat better, but not good enough either IMHO, because it doesn't refer to
the axis. 

My suggestions:

"Vertical character alignment"
"Vertical alignment of characters"

this will also remind users of what "vertical alignment" means in Draw and
Impress, giving them a sense of what changing this would actually look like -
but with characters instead of shapes.
