Priority: medium
Bug ID: 62784
Assignee: [email protected]
Summary: Cannot insert linked image
Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Windows (All)
Reporter: [email protected]
Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Version: 4.0.1.2 release
Component: UI
Product: LibreOffice
Running LibreOffice 4.0.1.2 on Windows Vista 64 bits, the UI doesn't allow
inserting linked images if you use native dialog boxes. If you try that, the
options when you use Menu Insert, Pictures, From File are "Open" and "Show
previous versions" (Microsoft Word 2010 uses the same native dialog, but has
the options to "Insert", "Link to file", "Embed and link" and "Show previous
versions").
It's only possible to link images by going to Menu Tools, LibreOffice, Main (or
General, my UI is in PT-BR), Open and Save dialog boxes, and then setting to
use LibreOffice dialog boxes.
It would be nice to use the native dialog boxes, as it maintains consistency
across different software. Also, on Windows Vista and later versions, the
native dialog boxes translate the absolute paths to the native language -
"C:\Users\UserName\Pictures" becomes "UserName\Imagens" or
"C:\Usuários\UserName\Imagens", depending from how you navigate to that
location.
