We have different places where vertical writing mode can be set:
(A) in the page style
(B) in a table cell
(C) in a frame
(D) in a text box
(E) in a custom shape (categories Basic Shapes, Symbol Shapes, Block Arrows,
...)

If I copy and paste your 'Expected Results' text line into a new document,
which has top-bottom then right-left writing mode, I get an 'ideograph full
stop' at the line end.

What are you doing when you are _not_ getting an 'ideograph full stop'? Please
describe it step-by-step.

Could you please attach example documents in 'odt'-format, not an image.
