It is very hard to know what to draw for a black-and-white bitmap; where to
threshold the image etc.

The existing code sets the DRAWMODE_WHITEBITMAP setting for that option, that
means that when we render the bitmap:

we end up with a white box - ie. that works as it's designed and (I assume) it
has done that ~forever. Whether it is what you want is something else ;-)

Do you not want greyscale ?
