            Bug ID: 152189
Summary: styles list "new", plus "DUPLICATE" !
           Product: LibreOffice
           Version: 7.4.2.3 release
          Hardware: All
                OS: All
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: enhancement
          Priority: medium
         Component: Writer
          Assignee: [email protected]
          Reporter: [email protected]

hi,

when you're in the styles panel, right-clicking on a style,
you'll have context menu items "new, modify, hide/show, delete"

this list should also involve "DUPLICATE"...
like in Filezilla's site's list... (site menu)

DUPLICATE would mean: a new style on the same "level" as the current style...

it would be like a "save as", so to speak..

ADVANTAGE:

right now we can ONLY create a style from a style as a derivative...
meaning: the NEW STYLE will be below our current style, not on the same
level...

why is it good to "duplicate" a style?

Cause in the current list there will be one more, a variant of an already
existing style..

Only being able to create a NEW one as an "underdog" (sub-level) style is a
limitation...
cause in reality we oftentimes want to create a new variant, not a whole new
style based on the one we copy...
