            Bug ID: 152463
Summary: AutoRecovery should be turned on by default
           Product: LibreOffice
           Version: 7.4.2.3 release
          Hardware: All
                OS: All
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: medium
         Component: LibreOffice
          Assignee: [email protected]
          Reporter: [email protected]

Description:
AutoRecovery is NOT turned on by default with a fresh installation. This is a
major design flaw, because the users will turn on the option only AFTER they
first lost a document. The damage is then done and can only be prevented for
the future.

This is filed as a bug, because the implication of the decision to not have the
option turned on by default causes severe data loss for every user, at least
the first time their LibreOffice crashes. People nowadays are used to cloud
behavior, automatic saving, etc. (see Google Docs) and will be thrown off by
this flaw.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Make a fresh install of LO
2. Work on something
3. Crash the Program
4. Try to recover the document

Actual Results:
Recovery does obviously not work, because it is not turned on by default.

Expected Results:
AutoRecovery should be turned on by default in the options.

Reproducible: Always
