Bug ID: 152489
Summary: Libre Office window management on Mac OS Ventura
13.0.1 is unstable and leads to crashes with keyboard
shortcuts
Product: LibreOffice
Version: 7.3.6.2 release
Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: macOS (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: medium
Component: LibreOffice
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
Description:
With multiple documents open in LO on Mac OS Ventura, if I use the keyboard
shortcut Command-` (backtick), which is the standard Mac way to switch windows
within an application, then LO becomes unresponsive, freezing totally.
This is a new bug since updating to Ventura. LO worked fine on previous
versions of the OS. However, this is a LO-specific bug. Other apps still work
fine.
I am able to navigate between documents without crashing if I use the Menu >
Window dropdown.
After a LO crash and restart, LO opens into document recovery, and sometimes is
only able to access recovered docs in read-only mode. This read-only behaviour
may persist after a subsequent normal quit and restart of LO.
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Have more than one doc open (any combination of types—spreadsheet, text,
whatever).
2. Use the Mac keyboard shortcut Command-backtick (adjacent to the Z key) to
switch the document in focus.
3. See the beachball of death for as long as LO remains in focus. Switch to
another app, and choose Apple > Force Quit to get out of LO.
Actual Results:
The LO process freezes.
Expected Results:
Should have cycled through the documents open in LO.
Reproducible: Always
User Profile Reset: No
