I should have written "Cmd + `" (that's the "back tick" key under the esc key).
See System Settings > Keyboard > Keyboard Shortcuts "Move focus to next
window".

You may have to use Cmd+` a few times to get the crash.

The crash does not happen when using the mouse to switch windows, and does not
happen when using the Window menu to switch windows.

I don't have any window managers installed.
