Updating the driver from version 30.0.101.1692 to version 31.0.101.3959 did
indeed solve the problem. Thank you for your help!

(Strangely enough, both HP's driver detecting tool and Windows' Device Manager
told me that version 30.0.101.1692 is the most recent driver, and after having
installed version 31.0.101.3959 the Device Manager reinstalls the older version
when clicking on 'Update driver'.)
