In Libreoffice writer the wordcount is now displayed on the status bar. This
is great and very helpful to students and the like (Ref Bug 34772.) However,
personally, I find it a pain. It's purely psychological but my work and fan
fic writing does not require specific content length. So I feel I have an
electronic boss checking my work. It gets in the way of creative thinking!
It's an irritance only and I can turn the status bar off but would it be
possible to be able to toggle the status bar word count? Then I can view the
page count which is of use but without the wordcount. It might seem just an
irration but us writers are weird like that! No biggie. (I've installed
Abiword as a backup!)
Librewriter is brilliant, mind. It single handedly turned me to open source
and Linux and I have not looked back. Many thanks.
