Bug ID: 153268
Summary: Multitude of issues
Product: LibreOffice
Version: 7.4.5.1 release
Hardware: All
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: medium
Component: Writer
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
This is a "Feature Request", not a "Bug Report". Why and how I ended up
here...well, if you can't get me to a Request and not a Bug Report, I have
little hope of my requests coming to fruition.
First, I found the Spell Checker to be quite a annoyance, for many reasons. As
I'm spell-checking, I am constantly REQUIRED to exit the Spell Checker. Why?
Because there is no place to add my own correction. If it's in the dictionary
or spell checker, I have to exit and fix it manually.
Which brings up issue #2: why doesn't Writer remember where the Spell Checker
dialog box was at? It ALWAYS puts it in the centre of the screen...right over
the text that I'm trying to check. Which means, EVERY TIME I have to move the
box to the right side of the screen to see what I'm doing. FRUSTRATING!
And then, issue #3: when I'm in the Spell Checker, the text is shown to me and
I can see precisely where I need to make the manual correction. As I'm FORCED
to exit the Checker dialog (just to add a word that's not in the dictionary),
I'm suddenly jumped back to where I started spell checking. So then, in my
100-200 page document, I have to manually search through to find where I was
just at. REALLY? Nobody else finds this silly?
So, for now, LibreOffice is off the table for my office. We'll pay the fee for
MS 365, just to save all the extra work!
