First the cursor must be placed exactly on the border of the selected column. If you don't have a good view or working on a laptop with the trackpad, it's a nightmare to be done. Then, once the column has been moved, the older one still remains in position. Only the datas are moved. So it needs anyway to remove the previous column at the end.
