Bug ID: 153478
Summary: GTK Backend Rendering Areas Completely Black
Product: LibreOffice
Version: 7.5.0.3 release
Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: medium
Component: LibreOffice
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
Description:
Hello!
When I launch LibreOffice, several areas of the UI are rendered completely
black.
Areas affected are, for example:
- In the main menu, the left bar where Calc, Writer etc. can be started
- In Calc, the formula bar, the tab with the name of the currently active
sheet, part of the conditional formatting window
- In Writer, the ruler at the top and some elements in "Format > Columns"
As far as I remember, this is happening since I set up my current distro
installation, which would be since 2020-01-07.
I'm using Arch Linux with sway as window manager, but the bug also appears when
using the Weston compositor. It also appears when using xwayland by launching
with `GDK_BACKEND=x11 libreoffice`. LibreOffice is choosing gtk3 as default
backend, but the same happens when choosing gtk4 with `libreoffice
-env:SAL_USE_VCLPLUGIN=gtk4`.
The areas are rendered correctly when using the qt5 and qt6 backends.
Software versions installed:
- wayland 1.21.0-2
- sway 1:1.8-5
- gtk3 1:3.24.36-1
- gtk4 1:4.8.3-3
- qt5-base 5.15.8+kde+r180-1
- qt6-base 6.4.2-1
- libreoffice-fresh 7.5.0-1
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Launch LibreOffice
Actual Results:
Some areas of the UI are completely black
Expected Results:
Rendering the affected areas not black
Reproducible: Always
User Profile Reset: Yes
