Priority: medium
Bug ID: 63442
Assignee: [email protected]
Summary: : If an inaccessible network printer is configured on
the system, Libreoffice frequently hangs up to a
minute
Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Windows (All)
Reporter: [email protected]
Hardware: Other
Whiteboard: BSA
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Version: 4.0.0.3 release
Component: UI
Product: LibreOffice
Problem description:
I was having problems with the UI being insufferably slow and generally taking
a really long time to do many basic things, such as opening documents, creating
new documents or even formatting axes on a chart in Calc. It would appear to be
using almost no CPU or disk activity, so my immediate impression was "network
related".
After a little exploration I discovered the computer was still set up for a
network printer that was moved to a different IP. After removing the printer,
the UI sped right up.
Steps to reproduce:
1. Add an invalid network printer... somehow. Most likely you'll have to add a
real printer, then disconnect the printer from the network.
2. Open LibreOffice.
Current behavior:
Frequent deadlock-like freezing
Expected behavior:
Should come around, open dialogs, etc. quickly.
Operating System: Windows 8
Version: 4.0.0.3 release
