Bug ID: 153565
Summary: Minimally responsive (sluggish) and crashing almost
randomly
Product: LibreOffice
Version: 7.5.0.3 release
Hardware: IA64 (Itanium)
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: medium
Component: framework
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
Description:
With a new PC build and nVidia RTX (DDR4) video card and M.2 SSD the program
starts to become sluggish almost unresponsive to controls especially to
scrolling. When this happens I know it is going to crash so I try to save and
restart the software. It happens in both writer and calc. Restarting
generally works for a little while but it will happen again in a matter of an
hour or two. Although today it happened without warning. This is a brand new
build with LibreOffice being the only software installed except for drivers.
Everything is up to date. I'm sorry I can't be specific because it's no "one
thing" that I do that triggers it but my gut tells me that it has something to
do with the graphics. It never happens when I just leave the program sit it
only happens when I am scrolling, typing, or using the keyboard to navigate the
page.
Steps to Reproduce:
1.Scroll
2.'Page down'
3. Tab
4. or Type
Actual Results:
Sorry, it is too random however, it Always happens when I am modifying
something on the screen or navigating (scrolling or ctrl+ arrow keys). I can
leave the program sit of days and it wont crash.
Expected Results:
Most of the time the controls start to become unresponsive and then the program
just drops right out with no error messages or un-handled exceptions.
Reproducible: Always
User Profile Reset: No
Additional Info:
I am just getting to the end of reporting this and NOW I read that I can try
resetting my user profile! Not cool.
Anyway, I am going to submit this and then try resetting the default user
profile that I was never prompted to set up in the first place. I will report
back as to weather it works or not.
