          Priority: medium
            Bug ID: 63464
          Assignee: [email protected]
Summary: [FORMATTING] cross-reference to footnote or endnote is
                    not wrong format
          Severity: normal
    Classification: Unclassified
                OS: All
          Reporter: [email protected]
          Hardware: Other
            Status: NEW
           Version: 3.5.7.2 release
         Component: Writer
           Product: LibreOffice

Created attachment 77862
  --> https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=77862&action=edit
writer document with footnote and cross-reference to footnote

When inserting a footnote or endnote, the reference is formatted as in the
footnote style (i.e. smaller font and superscript).

When however a cross-reference to an existing footnote or endnote is inserted,
the refecence is not formatted at all. There is no way to do this whilst
inserting, you must select the reference after inserting and set the character
style or properties.

The attachment shows what happens.

It should be possible - and straightforward for users - to give the
cross-reference to footnote and endnotes the same style as is used for
references to footnotes and endnotes, either by default (which would have my
preference) or selectable at the time of inserting the cross-reference.
