Surprised I can't find this request anywhere.
I frequently find that entering what's intended to be a formula ends up as
text. There are ways to force the cell to be a formula, but they are error
prone and sometimes even when I get a simple formula to work it somehow changes
back to text when edited. I have developed spreadsheets with complex formulas
over many years. This is my most frustrating issue.
Request: Add entry to 'Format cells' to change selected cells with text
starting with = to use the cell(s) as formulae.
