The difference is a bit subtle for me, but noticeable. I make sure I fullscreen
the window, and zoom out a bit to view a large number of cells.
Repeating the character is smooth before the commit, and a bit jumpy after the
commit but smooth again if formula bar is hidden.

lp.allard, it would be great if you could confirm that we are seeing the same
issue by:
- Testing version 7.0 and verifying that the issue is not there;
- Deactivating the formula bar in View > Formula Bar to see if the performance
issue disappears in recent versions.
