The main rejection point is that they need a change in ODF XML markup so that needed data is available when generating indexes of tables, figures, … Power users will have no difficulty with the proposal. To make it acceptable, adequate default "configurations" must be offered when opening the caption and "Table of Figures" dialogs. The same defaults as the present one avoid to disrupt "muscle memory" and habits.
