Bug ID: 154178
Summary: A single column in Calc sheet drops down by one row,
leaving other columns unaffected
Product: LibreOffice
Version: 7.5.0.3 release
Hardware: Other
OS: macOS (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: medium
Component: Calc
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
Description:
2nd occurrence, not taken a screen shot, after pasting a downloaded CVS file
and copying its details to a Calc sheet, Bank downloaded data with columns:
- date, in/out amount, description, balance in one calc sheet.
In another Calc sheet, once pasted, re-arranged to:
- date, description, in/out amount, balance.
The description column drops one row.
This never happened with Intel MacBook Pro.
This has occurred with Silicon M2 MacBook Air with macOS 13.2 and 13.2.1.
Could this be a consequence of a repair* (LibreOffice dialog offering this
after computer restart) when a LibreOffice or Finder 'not responding' situation
occurs?
* I restart my computer about weekly. Calc may be open for days. On this last
occasion cell misbehaviour started so I closed LibreOffice and restarted the
computer. Misbehaviour was placing text in wrong cell, the computer not
remembering actions taken so that undo and redo did not match my memory. this
started with partial cell data entry disappearing and not going back into the
cell where I put it after disappearing for no apparent reason.
Steps to Reproduce:
1.Highlight some rows at intervals in a Calc sheet spanning, say 110 rows
2.Wait for a non-responding situation with Mail, LibreOffice and Finder
3.Check highlighted rows to see if a column has moved down one row relative to
other columns
Actual Results:
My second occurrence was used to identify this issue easily. The first time I
was correcting the 'mistakes' piecemeal until I discovered the rest of the Calc
sheet had been affected. I don't know if the Calc rows above the 'rest' are now
correct!
There was no obvious gap in the rows in the affected column.
Expected Results:
See the above - I have not tested for this error. I have only experienced it
before reporting.
Reproducible: Sometimes
User Profile Reset: No
Additional Info:
Search did not find a similar 'bug'.
I do not have "Help - About LibreOffice" as a menu item, so "About LibreOffice"
data follows:
Version: 7.5.0.3 (AARCH64) / LibreOffice Community
Build ID: c21113d003cd3efa8c53188764377a8272d9d6de
CPU threads: 8; OS: Mac OS X 13.2.1; UI render: default; VCL: osx
Locale: en-GB (en_GB.UTF-8); UI: en-US
Calc: threaded
The previous occurrence was when LibreOffice on my new MacBook M2 Air
occasionally reported that I had two instances of LibreOffice with different
personal settings that may cause a problem. This did not occur on my Intel
MacBook Pro. My application folder only had one version of LibreOffice, updated
since moving to the MacBook Air.
Last week I found an old LibreOffice.app with its date appended in an Archive
folder on my Desktop. I deleted it thinking that may be the reason I was
getting the personal settings message and another: when I opened a file I
created, it occasionally would only open in Read-only mode, so hopefully both
problems would go away. I have not had enough experience yet to confirm if
these issues are no longer, as both seemed random, and the latter was extremely
rare with my old Intel MacBook Pro.
I have not reset my profile as I don't know where it is. However, due to your
"instructions for resolving User Profile corruption" I will continuity work in
Safe Mode. In that mode I cannot see how "to disable Hardware acceleration or
to restore/reset your user profile."
