I reckon it shouldn't be too complicated, but full disclaimer, I'm not a programmer; still, I'm guessing that checking whether an application status is active or inactive, and setting this boolean value accordingly on a per-window basis (or, indeed for the entire application), shouldn't be that big of a deal). Also, even if the underlying bug is fixed and LOo doesn't take over the entire z-axis stack except for the topmost, active window from a different application, said boolean value *should* be set as false. I've just checked how tooltips behave in Microsoft Word, Adobe InDesign and even the Finder itself, and indeed tooltips are outright disabled in inactive apps. You should check Apple's Mac HIG documentation, because I'm almost 100% sure there's something in there about tooltips, but in the absence of it, best practices should take over. Accordingly, adding that fix *right now* would at least mitigate the seriousness of this bug and, indeed, guarantee it would be limited to the behaviour described in Comment #6, as Lillqvist said. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.
