Stéphane Guillou (stragu) <stephane.guil...@libreoffice.org> changed: What |Removed |Added ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Status|UNCONFIRMED |NEEDINFO Version|unspecified |7.5.1.2 release Ever confirmed|0 |1 --- Comment #3 from Stéphane Guillou (stragu) <stephane.guil...@libreoffice.org> --- To summarise Joseph's report: - Opening document shows the banner about needing a hyphenation dictionary - Joseph is unsure which extension is suitable, downloads one that sounds like it could help - Installing the extension warned the user about security aspect, which is expected: one has to trust the source of the extension. This is standard when installing anything. Joseph, I am having a hard time understanding what the issue is. My explanations and recommendations: - The software tells you that it is missing a dictionary that tells it how to hyphenate English words properly. (This happens when the document contains text that is hyphenated at the end of a line, to break words in two, which can be set up in Format > Paragraph > Text flow.) - Installing the relevant dictionary should make the information banner disappear. You found the right one, but I don't know why you ended up with such an old version (from 2018). Please install the most recent version on the page (from 2023): https://extensions.libreoffice.org/en/extensions/show/english-dictionaries - It is not possible the remove the extension because it comes bundled with LibreOffice (which is why there is a little lock icon next to it). It is however possible to update it. What exactly is the problem? Do you still see the warning even after installing the latest version of the dictionary? Or are you reporting that the user is not guided enough in the process? Please also paste here the information from Help > About LibreOffice.
