Bug ID: 154365
Summary: Libre Office Write 7.4.6 not fully accessing USB
memory stick. Keywords :- fileopen filesave
Product: LibreOffice
Version: 7.4.2.3 release
Hardware: x86 (IA32)
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: medium
Component: Writer
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
Description:
Using an HP Chromebook Chrome OS is current version, with a Penguin Linux
environment in which Libre Office 7.4.6 is installed.
Using Write
All works well using internal Chromebook memory.
If I try and access files on a USB stick they can only be opened in read only.
If I edit a file opened from internal memory I cannot save it to external
memory.
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Using ChromeBook and external USB memory stick. With Writer installed in
Linux environment
2. Start writer and attempt to open *.odt file on memory stick
3. Writer offers to open file in read only mode only
Actual Results:
Have to save or open file using internal memory and then copy onto memory stick
which is a frustration.
USB stick is accessible by other Chrome Apps so is functioning as would be
expected
Expected Results:
To be able to read or write to/from a usb memory stick
Reproducible: Always
User Profile Reset: No
Additional Info:
Libre Office can be very slow to load at times. 1 - 3 minutes, but occasionally
is an almost instant load. Once open using File Open for the first time can
result in a slow response in seeing the file/folder structure in the dafault
directory.
not certain whether the drive needs mounting (or how to do it)
Same Version of Libre Office run on Windows 10 pro has no such difficulty.
