If you discount those members in CC, and the QA members how much demand is there actually left. I feels basically like a single user request being honored in bug 54908. I can't tell if the demand has grown over time since introduction, obviously. Is it not easier to simply revert the change.. See what happens.. And re-introduce the feature - in a different way - if the angry mob appears complaining about the feature gone missing. Instead of keeping thinking how the preserve the feature in advance.
