@Hugh,

As of LO 7.2 (the version you reported with), "centre" is recognized correctly
in English (UK) in Calc. The real question is why / how you are setting "the
language" to UK. In Calc, there are several items that could be referred to as
"language". This is the part that we should clarify.

Please provide exact steps about how exactly you define "set to English (UK)".
