I can't say I objected to that dev decision on its implementation in that fashion, but time shows it was the correct choice--where are the users clamoring for implementation? 11 users and 0 duplicate BZ issues... Frankly keeping this issue open for the few vocal proponents continues to waste a lot of UX-Design effort. There is no developer interest in pursuing, only mixed support among the UX-Design circles and frankly nothing indicating this, or the bug 154593, is a tenable requirement for the project going forward.
