          Priority: medium
            Bug ID: 63761
          Assignee: [email protected]
Summary: Opening documents stalls LO for 65 seconds WHEN
                    CONNECTED to a network
          Severity: normal
    Classification: Unclassified
                OS: Windows (All)
          Reporter: [email protected]
          Hardware: x86 (IA32)
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
           Version: 4.0.2.2 release
         Component: Libreoffice
           Product: LibreOffice

Created attachment 78283

In the middle the opening screen of LO (grey) which stalls for 1 minute.

When opening ods or odt files(*) (did not try other open format files) a grey
start screen is displayed with a hour-glass but nothing happens for more than 1
minute. Other applications continue to work, but no other LO documents can be
opened.
Disabling the network (for example by disabling the wireless network
connection) solves this *completely* and *immediately*; files load within
seconds. When I first try to open a file and *then* disable the network (within
the mentioned 1 minute waiting time) the file loads immediately.
(*)Files are of small size. Files are not network files. Files do not contain
links to other files. Files with xls extension load quickly, with or without
network connection.

I find similar behavior when within Writer I open the dialog boxes for
'Character' or 'Paragraph'; they will appear after a long delay WHEN connected
to a network.

OS: Windows XP fully patched.
LO: Version 4.0.2.2 (Build ID: 4c82dcdd6efcd48b1d8bba66bfe1989deee49c3)
(I have seen the same behaviour in previous versions of LO)
Quickstarter is enabled.

Thanks for looking in to this. If this problem is not high on the to-solve
list: please post a work-around.

Regards,

Olaf.
