It took me a little to understand what it does, but now I see it is not a
duplicate of the Delete Point function and needs to be kept:
- Delete Points is an action that deletes the points in selection.
- Eliminate Points is a mode that can be toggled on or off to automatically
remove points that are considered to be superfluous because the segment they
are a part of are very close to a straight line.

Consider a use case: you have a complex polygon that you are modifying, moving
points around. With the Eliminate Points mode on, you can automatically remove
points you just moved when they don't add much to the overall shape of the
polygon.

Marking as "not a bug" although I'm sure the documentation could do with some
improvements.
