@Heiko: Thanks! I prefer to use the correct form with punctuation:

"veni, vidi, vici"

 or

"Veni, vidi, vici."

and the hidden inner form can be

"veni vidi"
"vidi vici"

now, and anything else later.

This way is not only more user-friendly (i.e. using orthographically correct
dictionary items), but Lightproof and LanguageTool can use the correct form to
check the requested punctuation, too.
