There are formatting errors, though: The colour is different and the text is absolutely missing. But no crash Inserting (Insert->Picture->From File) works very fine under LibreOffice 3.6.2.2. Also inserting in 4.0.0.3 works fine, but there are layout issues. This is a regression. But no crashes.
