The cell/position, visible "home" cell/position, zoom factor, view grid and
many other settings are saved in the file but do not add any item to the
(potentially) "undo" list.

Let's not get off-topic. We should leave this request for developer's
evaluation. In the meantime, my question from comment 2 is still relevant: Are
there other spreadsheet tools that behave differently?
