Priority: medium
Bug ID: 64112
Assignee: [email protected]
Summary: EDITING: Dutch (NL) spell check in Writer does not
work any more after upgrade to Kubunt
Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Linux (All)
Reporter: [email protected]
Hardware: Other
Whiteboard: BSA
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Version: 4.0.2.2 release
Component: Writer
Product: LibreOffice
Problem description:
Recently, I upgraded my OS from Kubuntu 12.10 to Kubuntu 13.04. When editing a
document with Writer, the Dutch spell check did not function at all.
Steps to reproduce:
1st step. I have checked whether the Dutch (NL) language module has been
properly installed in the system. This is the case.
2nd step. I have edited an empty test document with one phrase in Dutch,
British English, American English, German, Italian and French. I defined one
language as document language, then I wrote a phrase with a few mistakes, then
I tried both the automatic and manual spell check procedure. With "automatic",
I point at the procedure that underlines every possible mistake with a red wave
line.
3rd step. I have carried out the same check as a different user. This test
delivers exactly the same outcome: see below, "current" and "expected"
behaviour.
Current behaviour:
Everything works properly, except Dutch (NL). This applies for both automatic
and manual spell check. In the case of e Dutch, the automatic spell check does
not work at all. Mistakes are not being underlined, so no correction
suggestions come up in the case of such a mistake. Also the manual spell check
does not deliver any spell check suggestion, even not in the case of a very
obvious mistake.
Both spell check procedures do function normally in the case of other
languages.
Expected behaviour:
Automatic spellcheck: red wave line along with suggestions in the case of a
mistake.
Manual spell check: coming with suggestions for mistakes before all together
finishing the check.
Latest version:
I do not remember any more the exact version number. That's why, I filled in
"NONE" above. However, it was the version coming with Kubuntu 12.10 along with
KDE 4.10 via the ppa backports.
System configuration: (Ubuntu) >>> Kubuntu 13.04u.
Operating System: Ubuntu
Version: 4.0.2.2 release
