          Priority: medium
            Bug ID: 64130
          Assignee: [email protected]
           Summary: Improvement: non-latin keyboards
          Severity: enhancement
    Classification: Unclassified
                OS: All
          Reporter: [email protected]
          Hardware: All
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
           Version: 4.0.2.1 rc
         Component: Writer
           Product: LibreOffice

LO is an international project, but typing directly a text in a non-latin
alphabet is impossible with an English (or French, Spanish...) keyboard. One
has to go into the panel "special characters", look for them and enter the
letters one after another with the mouse or touchpad. You should add a function
allowing to use Arabic, Cyrillic, Greek, Hebrew, Tifinar, etc. with a latin
keyboard, by typing the equivalent latin letters.
Twenty years ago I used a text editor which was able to do so by selecting the
correct language in a small scrolling menu of the toolbar. Why not LO?
