Problem description:
Steps to reproduce:
1. Insert an image in eps format
2. Export to PDF
3. Open PDF file
Current behavior:
Image does not get exported and no error message is given
Expected behavior:
Image should get exported but even more importantly, when something goes wrong,
don't make the program pretend everything went fine. This can cause quite some
headaches when giving a presentation. Add some checks in the code.
